Set the recipient and schedule
A time-based XRP escrow locks native XRP on the ledger for a specified recipient. Choose an amount, an earliest release time and, if needed, a later cancellation time. Check the recipient and schedule carefully before signing.
Release requires a transaction
Reaching the release time makes an escrow eligible to finish; it does not automatically send the XRP. An EscrowFinish transaction must succeed. If the escrow has a cancellation time, it can be cancelled once that time is reached, subject to the ledger rules.
Check reserves and fees
Escrow objects affect the creating account’s owner reserve while they exist. Network fees apply to creation, finishing and cancellation. Review current reserves and any platform fees in the transaction preview. XRPFrontend prepares transactions; your wallet approves them.
