Decide the schedule first

XRPFrontend creates time-based native XRP escrows. Choose the recipient, amount, earliest release time, and whether to set a later cancellation time. You may name your own account as recipient.

Create a timed escrow

  1. Connect the funding wallet and open Escrow → Create.

  2. Enter the recipient address and XRP amount. Include a destination tag when required.

  3. Set Release after in your local date and time. Choose a future time.

  4. Optionally set Cancel after to a later time. Leave enough time between release and cancellation for someone to finish the escrow.

  5. Review the transaction. FinishAfter and CancelAfter appear as ledger timestamps in the review; your entered local times are converted for the ledger.

  6. Approve in your wallet and wait for validation.

  7. Open the creation transaction in the explorer and record its Account and Sequence. Keep these together for the finish or cancel action.

  8. Use the release calendar at the top of Escrow to browse pending timed XRP escrows by month. Select a marked date for amounts, recipients, exact local times and expiry details. Filter incoming or outgoing escrows, or use Next release. Escrows sent to the same wallet appear under Outgoing. Search another wallet or username and click View this wallet’s escrows on its account page to open its public calendar without changing your connected wallet. Use the compact monthly XRP chart below the calendar to select a year with active escrows; empty years are not listed. Click a month to jump to its first release. Refresh ledger after creating or finishing an escrow. Each release detail also shows the estimated owner reserve freed when the escrow is removed, using the current network reserve increment. This reserve benefits the escrow creator (or reserve sponsor), not the recipient; it is separate from the escrow payment, base reserve and transaction fee. Future reserve requirements may change. Dates show eligibility, not automatic payments; conditional escrows still require fulfillment.

Practice with a small test escrow

On Testnet, try 1 XRP to your second test account, release several minutes ahead, and cancellation comfortably later. Keep both wallet tabs open. After the release time, use the next guide to finish it and verify receipt.

What changes after creation?

The escrow amount leaves the sender’s spendable balance and is held by the ledger. The escrow object also contributes to the owner’s reserve requirement. XRPFrontend checks available funds before preparing the transaction.

Without a cancellation time, a timed XRP escrow cannot be cancelled. Once eligible, it can still be finished to its original recipient. Choose the schedule carefully before signing.
