Network fees

Transactions consume a small XRP network fee. Some failed transactions also consume it. The exact cost can vary with network conditions and transaction type, so check the review instead of relying on a fixed number. Ordinary transactions use a 0.1 XRP preparation safety cap; account deletion uses its distinct protocol fee calculated from live reserve parameters.

Platform fees are separate from network fees and reserves. When spending XRP in the Swap tool, your entered budget includes the platform fee, but not the XRPL network fee. XRP NFT purchase fees are additional to the sell-offer price. Token issuer charges and NFT creator royalties may also apply.

Trade fees round up to multiples of 0.000002 XRP so the current 50% affiliate share is a whole number of drops. The Swap receive target is set 1% below the current estimate; it is not a guaranteed fill. The trade and platform fee use an all-or-nothing Batch, but a failed transaction can still consume a network fee.

Previews, wallet connection and verification do not submit a fee-bearing ledger transaction. Username and tip activation purchases do. For an interrupted purchase or payout, reconcile the existing hash before retrying; do not pay again because the page is waiting.

Account reserves

The network uses reserves to limit ledger resource usage. A base reserve applies to an account, and certain ledger objects contribute owner reserves. Creating an escrow or check can therefore change the amount available to spend.

XRPFrontend reads current reserve parameters rather than hardcoding an XRP amount. Its account card uses a base-plus-owner-count estimate. Special ledger rules can affect individual accounts; consult the actual account and transaction result when the estimate differs from wallet behavior.

Why a payment may be blocked

The review check considers the payment amount, estimated reserve, and network fee. An escrow creation also needs its locked amount and an allowance for the additional object. A check does not lock its maximum amount, but creating its ledger object still affects reserve.

If XRPFrontend cannot obtain live reserve data, it stops preparing the transaction. Refresh when the connection is available; do not interpret a missing reserve as zero.
